Peter O'Donnell

Peter has been a professional artist since the early 90's when he established himself as a creator of children's books, writing and illustrating books for UK and international markets. He was short-listed for the prestigious 'Mother Goose' Award for his first book 'The Moonlit Journey' in 1990.
He originally studied fine art at Maidstone College of Art and later gained his MA at Kingston University.
Peter now focuses on painting and printmaking, exhibiting in the South West.
He works in gouache paint and mixed media. He is also a skilled printmaker using woodblock to
create iconic images.

Natasha Hayes
Natasha owns & runs Hungry Gap Production alongside Pete Lawrence. With 30 Years experience in TV, Natasha has worked on Natural History, Features and Documentaries.
She is confident working with key talent and also shoots, edits and records sound. She is equally happy directing crews and managing large teams.
Natasha also freelances as a producer and Edit producer, managing several edit suites on complex live productions (Springwatch, Chelsea Flower Show, Alaska Live).

Monty Halls
Monty is a well-known BBC presenter, having fronted three series of BBC 2’s ‘Great Escapes’, as well as ‘Great Barrier Reef’ and ‘The Fisherman’s Apprentice.’ He has also presented films and series’ for Discovery, The History Channel, Channel 5, National Geographic, and Channel 4. More recently he has created several series concepts, including ‘Escaping Hitler’ and ‘My Family & the Galapagos’, and has worked more actively as a producer and originator of new content. Monty runs Seadog Productions in Totnes

Tamsyn Halls
Tamsyn has previously worked for the BBC, at Children In Need and the Wildlife Fund, organising live television appeals and running their marketing and PR efforts. She has also worked within production management at the Underwater Channel, where she gained valuable insight into the multi-platform online television industry at the very beginning of VoD. She now works alongside Monty running Seadog Productions.

Laura Woussen
I started my career as a Graphic Designer working on educational books at Oxford University Press and then I moved on to magazines such as “Cosmopolitan” and “Country Living Magazine” designing layouts and Art Directing food and beauty shoots. When I became a freelancer in 2011 I went back to working on books. Styling and laying out book content and covers from concept to print and Art Directing interior and lifestyle photographic content. This work takes me to London and Exeter. I also design Wedding Stationery over at Salty Rose Weddings. Locally I design branding for new ventures or rebrand current businesses. I love working with local, creative and passionate people! I also work alongside my Photographer friend Claire Gillo styling and shooting interiors such as holiday homes and restaurants.

Jennifer Cooper
Jennifer Cooper lives and works in Kingsbridge, taking inspiration from the beautiful area of the South Hams. She left Devon in 2003 to study Graphic Design in Surrey. After 12 years of working in London as a designer, she and her husband came back home to Devon to raise their son.
Jennifer’s first illustration was of Hope Cove and was a gift for her husband, as they had married there. The design was picked up by Hope Cove Gallery and proved so popular that Jennifer went on to draw more of her favourite places.

I'm a passionate landscape, portraits, and wedding photographer based in Kingsbridge, Devon.
Having a love of photography and being able to develop my passion over the years, I decided in 2023 to start my business as a professional photographer.
I had a successful career in corporate business over the past 26 years, and with a grown up family, I now have plenty of time to myself to do what I most enjoy. I'm also a keen amateur painter and enjoy regular coastal walks, with camera in hand.

Caroline Corrie
Actress, film director, writer and producer Caroline Corrie completed her award winning debut feature film 'Shalborne' last year. Set in 1905 'Shalborne' is a story about an Edwardian women's journey of liberation from patriarchy, filmed locally in Devon. It will hopefully be the first of many films and Caroline has already drafted the script for her next feature. With a first class honours degree in Drama from Birmingham University and three years acting training at RADA Caroline worked as an actress on stage and screen before moving into film production in 2016.

Jamie Curtis
By day Jamie runs Float Studio in Kingsbridge offering a broad range of services to local and national businesses, including web design & development, branding, photography, and SEO.
Otherwise you might find him cooking breakfast for a small B&B he shares with his wife (https://www.welliesandwaves.co.uk/). They previously ran a popular boutique hotel together in Exmoor called Heasley House before selling up and moving to Kingsbridge in 2022.
Jamie is also a passionate fisherman, and runs Salcombe Fishing Adventures (https://www.salcombefishing.co.uk/), which offers guided lure fishing in and around the Kingsbridge estuary, mainly for bass and wrasse.
He is a keen gig rower with Salcombe Rowing club, boatman, paddleboarder, and also pretends to himself that he can surf.

I have worked with some of the biggest corporate and commercial brands, such as Nike, Adidas, HSBC, and Coca-Cola, producing and directing engaging films that reach and resonate with target audiences.
As a former Creative Director at an award-winning video content agency, I led a team of talented film-makers and post-production specialists, offering an exceptional, cost-effective, end-to-end service, completely in-house. I was responsible for developing and executing the creative strategy and vision for original content, as well as overseeing the shooting, editing, and delivery of projects.
I also have extensive experience in broadcast TV, having worked on documentaries, factual entertainment, and live sport for major networks, such as BBC, ITV, and Sky. I am proficient in video editing, social video, and drone piloting, and I always strive to stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in the video production industry.

​I’m a journalist and copywriter who brings stories to life on all subject matters for every audience.
I started my journalism career in local newspapers in Exeter, and moved to London in 2010 where I produced award-winning work during my time at trade titles across the Financial Times Group.
I subsequently took on the transport and leisure beat on the Daily Telegraph’s business desk.
I turned freelance in 2018 when I returned to Devon, and broadened my skillset to include corporate copywriting for businesses.
I’ve tackled blogs, website copy and white paper-style reports for international real estate firms including Knight Frank, national accountancy businesses such as EY, major investment firms like Legal & General, and trade bodies, but I am also passionate about writing for smaller, local firms, for whom telling their story in the right way can make a real difference.
I now balance my freelance work with an employed role as a journalist for the BBC-funded Local Democracy Reporting Service. Based at Radio Exe in Exeter, this work focuses on local government/democracy in Devon, and my articles are syndicated by the majority of news outlets across the county. I’m also honing my podcasting skills on a weekly show called Devoncast.

Jon Clay
Jon is a documentary filmmaker, specialising in nature, people and the remote places they call home. The bulk of his work has been for the BBC and various international co-producers, though he’s also made lots of online content and has a feature doc on Netflix: Breaking Boundaries, the Science of Our Planet. Though born and raised in Suffolk his heart has always lived in the Southwest; he began his working life in Bristol 30 years ago and finally made the jump to Devon with his family in 2021. At around the same time he set up a small indie production company focused on making films that will help shift our culture towards a greener, healthier, fairer future: See Through Stories achieved B-Corp accreditation in early 2024.

Claire Gillo
I’m a creative photographer specialising in brand, portrait, commercial product, and event photography. For me, photography isn’t just about taking pictures, it’s about telling stories and capturing authentic moments. These two passions are at the heart of my work, particularly in the commercial space.
I was raised in Devon but like most young people I was eager to explore the world, so after a gap year travelling I went on to pursue a photography degree at the Arts University Bournemouth. After graduating with first-class honours, I spent several years working in the publishing industry, writing and shooting articles for various photography magazines. After meeting my husband in Bristol and starting a family in 2018 we made the decision to move back to Devon to be close to the sea! It was here that I founded Claire Gillo Photography and Salty Rose Weddings (my wedding photography business). I'm also on Instagram @clairegillophotographyand @saltyroseweddings.

Ed Barker is founder of South West Studio, established in Kingsbridge in 2014.
We create contemporary, elegant architecture + interiors on beautiful sites across the South West of England. Based between the coastal towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth we have particular experience of high-end residential architecture in these locations, both for private and commercial clients.

Lucy Rose Cartwright
Lucy Rose Cartwright is a freelance illustrator and surface pattern designer that graduated from Falmouth University, UK with a BA in Illustration. She is currently represented by The Artworks Agency, London and Mendola Artists, New York and has worked on lots of exciting commissions for clients mainly in the Editorial and Publishing sectors. These include Penguin Books, The FT, Radio Times, Liz Earle, Waitrose, National Trust, Hachette, Tesco, Peets Coffee, Heron Valley, Don Papa Rum and many more. Lucy has always loved print processes and this is reflected in her work with organic textures and graphic compositions. Currently living by the sea in Devon, she takes inspiration from nature and the botanical elements that surround her.

Liz has over 20 years experience in the TV industry, producing programmes from ’The Graham Norton Show’ to ‘The Great British Menu’ and has been lucky enough to travel to far flung corners of the world making Rick Stein’s programmes for the BBC.
Specialising in forward planning, inclusive casting and setting up complex shoots, Liz has produced a broad range of travel and food programmes, most recently 'Robson Green in the Amazon’ and ‘Joanna Lumley’s Jewels of the Mediterranean’ for C5.
Closer to home, she wrote and directed a short film celebrating 20 years of her husbands company, Stones Boatyard, which celebrated the Salcombe Yawl and captured beautiful drone footage of the Salcombe estuary.

Wendy Broadhurst
Wendy has 25 years+ professional experience as a television editor living and working in Bristol. She moved with her family to South Devon in 2021 and has continued to work ‘remotely’ from home.
She has worked on a wide range of programme genres including observational documentary, prime-time game shows and natural history. Broadcasters include the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Ch5 & National Geographic with production credits such as ‘Countryfile’, ‘Animal Park’, 'Skin A&E' and “Deal or No Deal”.
When not in the edit chair, Wendy regularly volunteers at Overbecks National Trust Garden in Salcombe, continuing to learn and seek inspiration for her own garden in Kingsbridge.

Working across tourism, real estate, and construction, no two days are ever the same. Starting my company over five years ago was the best decision I’ve made—living and working here feels like a dream.

George Mahood
George is an author of non-fiction books that blend travel, humour, sport, and adventure. Before writing books, he spent over a decade working as a photographer (mostly weddings) in the Midlands.
In 2013, he moved to Devon with his wife and three children, and a year later, he made the leap to writing full-time.
In addition to his books, George shares weekly posts through his Substack newsletter, Reconnecting...
When he’s not writing, George loves spending time outdoors – running, cycling, swimming, or exploring the South Hams with his dog.

Painter, Printmaker
Maggie Smith
Maggie is a painter, printmaker and workshop teacher who is constantly inspired by the sea, surrounding natural landscape, nature and her garden.
Having trained as a primary school teacher many years ago, she specialised in Ceramics at college and also taught educational dance in schools around Oxfordshire, before moving to the South Hams and settling just outside Kingsbridge nearly twenty years ago.
Working in a variety of mediums, ranging from large mixed media pieces to small intricate printmaking, Maggie produces work from an emotional response to things, a scene, or a moment in time, which captures her imagination and fires up her creativity.
Some of her printmaking designs are on mugs, tea towels, cards and stationery which she sells from her studio and on her website.
Maggie exhibits locally and opens her studio for the South Hams Arts trail in October and has recently set up Devon Makers Markets, with fellow printmaker Emma Cook.
She welcomes people to her rural studio [ in Goveton ] by appointment at other times.

Choreographer
Catherine Seymour
Catherine is a choreographer collaborating across art forms to bring light to bear on contemporary issues, from the personal, to the environmental and social. Her most recent collaboration with film maker David Lefeber, Bowland Beth, explores the threat to the extraordinary bird of prey, the hen harrier and the injustice of persecution in the widest sense.
Trained at London Contemporary Dance School and the Merce Cunningham studio NYC, after a performing career, she began choreographing, presenting live dance work in seasons at The Place Theatre, London and touring. She became the first choreographer in residence at The Royal Festival Hall, creating performances across the South Bank venues and site specifically. Other residencies included a Year of the Artist Award at Chelsea Royal Hospital, and Nell Gwynn’s home, Lauderdale House, in collaboration with The Kreutzer String Quartet.
She believes in the unique power of dance to move people at a visceral level and act as a powerful catalyst for change.

Michael Mills
Michael set up MJE Film + Photography in September 2022, following a long career in property sales. Having been a keen amateur photographer since childhood, He took the plunge and turned professional as a way of satisfying a long-held desire to find a more creative, fulfilling career path.
To date,He has specialised in architectural photography, as well as food photography - often working alongside his wife, Janet Brinkworth, a well-established home economist and food stylist. For 2025 I'm looking to expand my repertoire, having just completed two video projects for a Plymouth based engineering firm and a veterans charity - PL1 Civvy Street.

Alison Huntingford
Alison Huntingford is an only child of two only children and so has always felt a distinct lack of family. This inspired her to research her family history and has led her to write three full length historical novels so far: ‘The Glass Bulldog’, ‘A Ha’penny Will Do’ and ‘Dance A Fearful Jig’ .
In September 2021 Alison set up the South Hams Authors Network – an organisation which aims to support and promote the work of Devon writers. This is a free, informal group which meets on a monthly basis, usually in Ivybridge, and has a devoted and loyal following. This culminated in the much praised Dartmoor Edge Literary Fest in October 2022, which was a free weekend event featuring local authors at community arts hub The Clay Factory near Ivybridge. Since then, Alison has gone on to organise and appear at two further South Hams Literary Festivals, based around the town of Ivybridge, Devon.
She also organises events to promote local authors, such as readings, talks, radio interviews etc and has been involved in publishing two anthologies of members' short stories. She is a member of several local community organisations and loves making new connections.

Hi I'm Neil, & it's been quite a journey to reach this point with QED webdesign.
Formerly a chef of 27years in high end hotels & restaurants (Michelin stars etc). I did my first website in 2005 to promote my own freelance cheffing services. Then towards the latter end of my culinary career I wrote a hospitality blog (for 6years) - this taught me how to moneytise the 11,000 unique users (on average of the year).
In 2017 I started a chef recruitment firm, sold it in 2023 to concentrate full time on QED, which I started in 2022. Our focus on sustainable website design came about in December 2023.

AYSE RIFAT
Ayse is an award-winning wildlife artist based in South Devon. She graduated from Buckinghamshire University with a degree in 3D Multi-Disciplinary Design and worked for Estee Lauder as their corporate store designer for ten years, covering regions such as the UK, Ireland, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Her designs can be found in prestigious department stores like Selfridges, Harrods, and Harvey Nichols, as well as internationally in cities including Istanbul, Amsterdam, Paris, and Moscow.
In 2010, Ayse relocated to the South Hams and transitioned into freelance design, collaborating with notable brands such as Timberland and the Crew Clothing Company. Most significantly, she has returned to her passion for painting.
Her fascination with wildlife and nature was sparked during a childhood trip to Epping Forest, leading her to dedicate her time to observing the natural world. This keen eye for detail, coupled with a deep love for birds, is vividly reflected in her paintings and drawings.
Ayse is an active member of The Wildlife Artists Society International and was recognized as an Invitational Artist for Explorers Against Extinction in 2019 and 2020. She has showcased her work at Roy's Art Fair at the Oxo Tower in London and was selected to participate in the "Oh Wise Owl" exhibition with the National Trust at Beningbrough Hall in Yorkshire.

Jenny is a creative engagement consultant and coach who helps people, organisations and brands cultivate impactful engagement with target audiences and communities. She has worked across multiple industries, from MTV and Disney to EE, Hendrick's Gin and the British Snowboard Team.
She is an ICF accredited somatically trained life coach, working with people and organisations who want to make positive change in the world in big and small ways, offering a non-judgemental space to chew over challenges and projects.
She has also worked as a BBC journalist/multimedia producer and researcher, written for magazines like The Face, Dazed & Confused and Mixmag and collaborated with award-winning documentary makers to develop digital engagement strategies.
She is founder of Hunt & Gather, with clients and collaborators including architects, art galleries, festivals, civic organisations, publications and local authorities, like the Whitechapel Gallery, Time Out, Arts Council, GLA and the Forestry Commission .

Steve owned and ran Silver Salt Restoration until its sale to John Gore Media in 2024. He started out working on film rushes for productions such as In Bruges, Eastern Promises, The Harry Potter films, and The Bourne Ultimatum. Over the course of his career, he has worked on commercials, TV, and film projects, specializing in film restoration and the remastering of classic and contemporary films.
Steve has collaborated with renowned directors and directors of photography, including Ken Loach, Danny Boyle, Mike Leigh, Roger Deakins, Roger Pratt, Dick Pope, and Sir Paul McCartney. His notable film restoration credits include The Deer Hunter, Donnie Darko, Mulholland Drive, When Harry Met Sally, Kes, Withnail and I, and Alfred Hitchcock’s silent films.

Steve has over 27 years experience in web design and graphic design as well as a lifetime passion for landscape photography. Alongside his photography business, he now runs Tin Fish Framing & Printing, based in Churchstow, offering bespoke picture framing for home, businesses, artists and galleries as well as image digitisation and fine art printing. Steve has operated his businesses in Ireland and Spain in addition to the UK and loves to travel, exploring great food and wines. In addition to his artistic endeavours, his UK passions are cooking, rugby and beer!

I have been in sound for over 16 years and have collaborated on projects including documentaries, commercials, feature films and high end tv drama. For the past 10 or so years I have mainly been working on tv dramas.
I attended the NFTS and have done the hard yards and worked my way up to production sound mixer, doing every job within the department on the way.
